Pink-mix circular cardigan
Adapted from a 15 year old pattern for a tablecloth (Crochet Monthly, No 125, p18, Cloth Art by Colette Beiline).
Created using just under 300g of Louisa Harding Impression Yarn, 84% nylon, 16% mohair, with a 5.50mm hook.

Pattern
I prefer to use a diagram - but have attempted to put the diagram into words below.
Yarn: Louisa Harding Impression
Hook: 5.50mm
Gauge: Difficult to judge because the yarn and pattern 'stretches', but roughly rounds 1 - 3 should produce a motif 4 inches in diameter.
Round 1. Make a loop with the end of the yarn. Slipstitch into the loop, 3ch and then 19 tr into the loop. Sl st to the 3rd of the 3ch to close round.
Round 2. 3ch (counts as first tr throughout), *3ch miss 1tr, 1tr into top of nxt tr*, repeat * to * to end, 3ch, sl st into 3rd of the 3ch to close round.
Round 3. 3ch, 1tr into same place, *2ch, 2tr into top of nxt tr*, repeat * to * to end, 2ch, sl st into 3rd of the 3ch to close round.
Round 4. 3ch, 1 tr into same place, 2tr into nxt tr, *2ch, 2tr into each of nxt 2tr*, repeat * to * to end, 2ch, sl st into 3rd of the 3ch to close round.

Round 14. 6ch, 1tr into loop, *3ch, 1tr into loop* repeat * to * to end, 3ch, sl st into 3rd of the 3ch to close round.
The central star is now completed.
Round 15. sl st along ch until you reach the centre of the first loop. 6ch, tr into 5ch from hook, tr into nxt ch, *tr into nxt loop, 3ch, 2 tr over the first tr*, repeat * to * to end, sl st into 3rd of the 6ch to close round.
Round 16. sl st along ch until reach top of ch (6th chain of the 6ch strand of round 15), 1ch, 1dc into same place, *5ch, 1dc into top of nxt 3ch*, repeat * to * to end, sl st into first dc to close round.
Round 17. sl st along chain until you reach the centre of the first loop, 1ch, 1dc into loop, *5ch, 1dc into top of nxt loop*, repeat * to * to end, sl st into first dc to close round.
Adjust size
Check fit across back using a T-shirt or other item of clothing that provides the fit you want - you should now be at the point where the circle covers your back.
Adjust size by repeating round 17 as needed.
Recommended sizings:
- Small - do not repeat round 17
- Medium - repeat round 17 once
- Large - repeat round 17 twice
- Extra-large - repeat round 17 three times
Round 18. sl st into first loop, 3ch, 3tr into loop, *4tr into nxt loop*, repeat * to * to end, sl st into top of 3tr to close round.
Arm-holes
Check fit across back using a T-shirt or other item of clothing that provides the fit you want. Calculate the placing of the armholes - usually from one o'clock to two thirty, and from 11 o'clock to ten thirty.
Count how many groups of four trebles you need to span to create the armholes.
Using a new piece of yarn, attach yarn at the point where you want the armhole to start (attach at a point between two groups of four treble using a slipstitch) - 4 chain for each four treble group that you need to span. Slipstitch to rejoin the yarn to the circle at the point where you want the armhole to finish and tie off the yarn. Repeat for the second armhole.
You should now have a circle with two added loops of chain where you want the armholes to be:
When you start the next round (round 19) you will crochet round the circle then across the chain loops you added, which creates two slits in the circle for the armholes:
Round 19. 1ch and 1dc into same place (this is the point where you finished round 18), *5ch, 1dc into gap between group of 4tr*, repeat * to * until the point where you reach your armhole, for each missed group of four treble, create one loop of 5ch and 1dc using the row of chain stitch you attached to create the armhole, then rejoin with a dc into the point where you re-attached the row of chain to the circle and continue around the circle creating loops of 5ch and 1dc, repeat when you reach the second armhole.
At the end of row 19 you should have 60 loops - count them - this is important!! (if you went wrong somewhere and can't spot where, then you can add extra loops to the armhole area without anyone noticing!!)
Pineapples - I recommend using the original pattern (below) rather than my instructions!!
Round 20. sl st along chain to middle of loop. 1ch 1dc into loop, **9tr into next loop, 1dc into next loop, *5ch, 1dc into next loop*, repeat * to * two more times**, repeat * to * to end and join with a sl st - this should create 12 pineapple bases of 9tr, each separated by 3 loops.
Round 21. sl st to top of first tr, 4ch, tr, *1ch, 1tr*, repeat * to * 7 more times, 1ch, 1dc into loop, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into next loop, 3ch, dc into next loop, 1ch, **1tr into first tr of 9tr group, *1ch, 1tr*, repeat * to * 7 more times, 1ch, 1dc into loop, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into next loop, 3ch, dc into next loop, 1ch**, repeat ** to ** to end finishing with a sl st to close the round.
Round 22. sl st into 4th chain from previous round, 1ch 1dc into same place, *3ch, 1dc into ch space between tr from previous round*, repeat * to * six more times to create seven 3ch loops in total, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr 2ch 2tr] into 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch, **1dc into the gap between the first two tr of the next pineapple, *3ch, 1dc into ch space between tr from previous round*, repeat * to * six more times to create seven 3ch loops in total, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr 2ch 2tr] into 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch**, repeat from ** to ** to end finishing with a sl st to close the round.
Round 23. sl st into centre of first 3ch loop from previous round, 1ch 1dc into same place, *3ch, 1dc into ch space between tr from previous round*, repeat * to * five more times to create six 3ch loops in total, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into nxt 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch, **1dc into first 3ch loop of pineapple from previous round, *3ch, 1dc into 3ch loop of pineapple from previous round*, repeat * to * five more times to create six 3ch loops in total, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch, [2tr 2ch 2tr] into nxt 2ch space between 2trs from previous round, 3ch**, repeat from ** to ** to end finishing with a sl st to close the round.
... need to finish writing up pattern.
